FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2026: FUHR opens doors - with smart access solutions

At FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2026 in Nuremberg, FUHR will be presenting its latest developments in the field of modern door and access systems to an international trade audience.

The specialist for entrance door locks from Heiligenhaus in North Rhine-Westphalia will be presenting a variety of sophisticated system solutions for house and commercial doors made of aluminum, steel, PVC and wood - including solutions for residential entrance doors. The focus of the trade fair presentation is on intelligent, convenient and secure access concepts that meet the increasing market requirements for design, functionality and security. Always taking into account easy installation.

A particular highlight of this year's system landscape is the further developed SmartAccess access solution. It enables doors to be opened conveniently without a key - using a smartphone app or biometric identification. FUHR consistently relies on locally operating technology: the door control works completely independently of an internet connection or cloud services - all data remains "in the door".

SmartAccess module SAM as an invisible control center

The central element of the SmartAccess solution is the SmartAccess module SAM. The compact control unit, which is invisible from the outside, is plugged directly onto the FUHR motorized lock and transforms it into a fully-fledged smart lock in no time at all. Thanks to the simple plug-and-play installation, SAM is not only suitable for new systems, but also ideal for the uncomplicated retrofitting of existing motorized door systems.

Despite its small size - barely bigger than a matchbox - the module takes over complete control of the motorized lock. permanent and temporary access authorizations can be conveniently managed via a free app. The system also provides current status messages about the door, such as whether it is open, closed or locked. Various door operating modes such as day latch, permanently open or party mode can be flexibly activated and deactivated.

A major security advantage: all data remains locally in the system. No data is transmitted via the internet and no information is stored in external cloud services. SmartAccess therefore meets high data protection and IT security requirements - an increasingly decisive factor in both private and commercial construction projects.

New biometric finger scan expands SmartAccess portfolio

The biometric SmartAccess multiscan will be presented for the first time at FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2026. It enables convenient door opening by fingerprint and adds another secure and intuitive access option to the existing SmartAccess portfolio. The new finger scan fits seamlessly into the modular system and expands the possibilities of FUHR's completely keyless front door concepts.

Existing components such as SmartTouch sensors, intelligent door fittings and touch-sensitive handle bars for KeylessGo access are thus supplemented by an additional level of biometric access control. The result is a flexibly combinable system that offers a wide range of applications in high-quality residential buildings as well as modern and convenient access solutions for commercial units, doctors' surgeries, law firms or office properties.

Further system solutions for modern door concepts

In addition to the SmartAccess innovations, FUHR will be presenting a wide range of other new products at the trade fair. These include further developments in the automatic locking product series, the new FUHR faceplate fitting for PVC doors and pivot door locking systems for the upmarket residential and commercial sector. These solutions combine high functionality with architectural design freedom. At FUHR, the system concept runs like a common thread through the product world and enables the implementation of multi-faceted locking solutions with reduced processing and installation costs.

CO₂efootprintfor every FUHR product

The company is one of the first manufacturers in the industry totransparentlyreport the completeCO₂efootprint(Product Carbon Footprint, PCF) for every FUHR product. FUHR thus makes a further contribution to greater sustainability in house and project construction and supports fabricators, planners and builders in the implementation of sustainable projects with aCO₂eimpact of the FUHR products usedthat can be shown at any time.

A personal farewell at the FENSTERBAU Frontale

The trade fair appearance in Nuremberg is also FUHR Marketing Manager Andrea Banning's personal farewell to retirement - a special and emotional moment for her as well as for the trade fair team and many companions. In over 25 years of dedicated work for the Heiligenhaus-based company, she has significantly shaped FUHR's brand positioning over many years and strategically developed the company's product and corporate communication. With her intuition for developments in the market and her extensive industry and product knowledge, she has helped to build a strong FUHR brand and leaves behind a secure basis for future development. After the trade fair, Markus Panofen will take over as Head of Marketing. He has more than 10 years of experience in a similar position in the lock and hardware industry and has been with the company since August 2025, so that a seamless succession plan was initiated at an early stage.
