The LED precision micrometers in the optoCONTROL 2700 series from Micro-Epsilon offer precise measurements of dimensions such as diameter, gap, edge and segment in industrial applications. New to the portfolio is the model with a measuring range of 10 mm, which was developed for small objects and enables precise measurements even with objects tilted by up to 45° thanks to active tilt correction.

With a sampling rate of 15 kHz and a short exposure time of 8.5 µs, this sensor is ideal for measuring vibrating objects. The optoCONTROL 2700-10 is also characterized by improved linearity, high resistance to ambient light and an excellent price-performance ratio.

The sensor of the optoCONTROL 2700-10 uses a turquoise LED with a wavelength of 508 nm as a light source. This makes it easy to measure red, red-glowing and red-hot objects as well as transparent glass objects, such as glass edges in web edge control or glass wafers, and organic surfaces. Typical applications include diameter measurement of extruded products, inline contour measurement of turned parts and wire measurement during wire drawing.

The LED micrometer is easily configured via a user-friendly web interface, which is accessible via Ethernet. Analog output, RS422 and Ethernet are available for integration into existing infrastructures. Users can also use PROFINET, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP.
